Maribeth Evans started Our Country Parlor
in 1996 and is a firm believer that personalized care in these homes
far exceeds the care that one would get in institutionalized facilities.
The reason behind this is the ratio of caregiver to resident in these homes
is far better than assisted living programs and nursing homes. The ratio
is 1:4, that's one caregiver for 4 residents compared to the personal care
aide ratio in nursing homes of 1:12!

The Evans' believe that a home atmosphere has been long sought after
in the long term care field, but a home atmosphere can only be found in
a home setting where there is a family and children.
